IMZ Performing Arts Documentary Pitching Session
The IMZ Pitching Session is back—and it’s better than ever! With our new and improved format, we’re giving five creators a platform to showcase their performing arts documentary projects to a jury of international decision-makers, for a chance to win a €5,000 cash prize.
A special award will also be given to one of the pitched projects by our colleagues from Sunny Side of the Doc.
Selected Projects
Far Away
Antonio Padovani, Latteplus Production
Far Away tells the story of five young cultural migrants who have decided to pursue their artistic vocation, despite the difficulties faced on their journey, leaving their homes and loved ones behind.
Maestro Notes – Beyond the Classical
Mafalda Almeida, Galope Films
Maestro Notes – Beyond the Classical is an 8-episode documentary series led by a renowned young conductor. Traveling worldwide, he uncovers classical music’s hidden stories—forgotten traditions, rare instruments, and untold histories of composers and performers.
Mirador
Azusa Maruyama, NHK Enterprises
Many sounds are vanishing—the wind whispering through sinking trees, the last indigenous instrument maker crafting wooden mouth-harps, fishermen’s rake-shaking to preserve young shells. Young musicians collect these fading sounds and transform them into a captivating piece.
Niemeyer 4ever
Marine Vaillant + Aurelia Makdessi, Special Touch Studios
In northern Lebanon, an improbable place revives hope: the International Fair of Oscar Niemeyer, yet officially closed to the public. The walls don’t prevent dreams, nor birds from flying.
Sounds of Religion
Maria Willer + Eric Schulz, 3B-Produktion GmbH
Through music, faith comes alive, forging deep connections between people and the divine. Sounds of Religion is a visually stunning four-part journey into how cultures express spirituality through sound.
