Monarda Music GmbH

Monarda Music was founded in Munich in March 2000 and, since 2007, has its company headquarters in Halle (Saale), the birthplace of Georg Friedrich Händel.

The pioneer label for classical music on DVD has been publishing prolific recordings of operas, ballets, classical concerts, jazz programs and theatre as well as select documentaries about music and art for over 20 years now. With up to 100 new publications per year, more than 1000 titles are out on DVD and Blu-ray up to now. This means that Arthaus Musik has the worldwide most extensive catalogue of audio-visual music and art productions and, since the founding of the label, has become one of the internationally leading providers in this segment of the Home Entertainment market.

Its subsidiary, Monarda Arts, means that Monarda Music has a rights library for DVD, TV and Online use, comprising approx. 900 different productions. Since 2007, the enterprise has been growing continuously in the segment of in-house production, with recordings of operas, concerts, ballets and the production of art and music documentations.
