Matt Parkin

Producer and digital all-rounder specialising in arts and classical music, and owner of Stagecast. Matt's 30 years’ experience encompasses sound engineering, CD production, BBC radio and TV, live streaming, high end commercial video production, digital and technology consultancy.

Since 2020, Matt has produced over 200 broadcasts and performance films including 75 TV broadcasts for the London Symphony Orchestra, 15 opera recordings, and a wide range of productions with other leading artists, for clients including major orchestras, concert halls, record labels, broadcasters, promoters and games companies. Recent work for one client alone has exceeded 40m views, including a single video which has generated 2.8m viewer comments.

Matt's recent work includes projects for the BBC, Sky Arts, Marquee TV, Mezzo TV and medici.tv. Matt has worked with many of the world’s leading classical musicians including Sir Simon Rattle, Sir Antonio Pappano, John Wilson, Yuja Wang, Michael Tilson Thomas, Sir John Eliot Gardiner, Nicola Benedetti and Joshua Bell.

Matt originally trained as a Tonmeister and his career has included long periods as a classical recording engineer, record producer, BBC radio sound supervisor and BBC TV operations manager. From 2017 to 2020 he was the first Head of Digital at the Royal College of Music (No 1 global institution for performing arts education).
